Dear Homeowners:
The Brittany Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc. has an Annual Meeting coming up on October 25, 2017. In conjunction with this meeting, we will be electing three (3) Board members to the association’s Board of Directors. This notice is to encourage you to consider running for the board.
Your Board manages your facilities and sets a budget each year toward this end. At times, the Board will also take on new projects to beautify or enhance the neighborhood in some way in order to keep our neighborhood attractive and remain a great place to live.
Attached you will find two Board Candidate Forms. If you would like to run for a Board position, please fill out the forms and send them back to us by August 31, 2017. Please note that candidates are responsible for submitting all documentation / proof per the requirements listed below. The Nomination Committee will verify the information submitted. Candidates will not be contacted about any deficiencies. In September, we will send out an official notification of the Annual Meeting and have available the means to vote electronically, by proxy, or in person at the Annual Meeting.
Please take note of the following requirements to serve on the Board for Brittany Lakes HOA:
To be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, you must be a member of the Association. Pursuant to the Association’s governing documents, only record owners of a lot or property subject to a Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for a Section of Brittany Lakes is considered a member of the Association. In addition, pursuant to the Texas Property Code, any candidate that has been convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude within the past 20 years is not eligible to serve on the Board. By submitting your name for nomination, you affirm that you meet the qualifications to serve as a director and are eligible to serve on the Board. The Association reserves the right to exclude any ineligible candidate from the ballot, or to remove from the Board any elected candidate if it is later determined that the candidate is not eligible to serve on the Board.
